Claude Motion: what it is and how to start

Choose a workflow, watch a real example, and turn your own material into a clear animation brief.

What is Claude Motion?

Claude Motion is a code-based animation feature inside Claude. It is useful for animated charts, explainers and product walkthroughs, rather than realistic footage. Access and export details below follow Anthropic's Motion guide, checked on Oct 22, 2026.

The phrase “Claude motion graphics” is also used for videos built with Claude Code and a separate renderer. That broader workflow accounts for many creator examples in our library. A finished reel alone does not tell you which interface, assets or tools its creator used.

Where do I start?Choose Motion under Output in a chat, or use a Motion template in Artifacts.Open a local video project in your coding agent.
What do I need?Motion is currently a beta on Team and Enterprise. Team enables it by default; Enterprise requires an owner to enable it.For Remotion: a coding agent, Node.js and a Remotion project. Check the agent's access and the renderer's license separately.
How do I export?Use Export → MP4.Preview the project, then render a video file with your chosen renderer.
How do I revise?Ask for an edit in chat or use the animation editor.Ask the agent to change the source, then preview and render again.

The tool names on creator posts describe their own workflows. They do not establish built-in Motion access or audio capabilities for every Claude plan.

Start with a concrete animation brief

  1. Pick one message. Name the audience and the fact, feature or idea the viewer should remember.
  2. Supply the material. Attach approved copy, numbers, screenshots, logos and any audio you have permission to use. Specify length and aspect ratio.
  3. Request a first cut. Ask for a short sequence with readable type and a clear ending before adding more effects.
  4. Revise one issue at a time. Point to the scene and change: the text is too small, the chart arrives too quickly, or the ending needs a longer hold.
  5. Check the exported file. Play the MP4 and inspect text, timing, dimensions and any audio. An interactive preview is not the delivery file.

For a local code workflow, use the official Remotion setup guide. If you are starting from a creator example, check its stated renderer and required assets before copying the prompt.

Watch real examples before writing your brief

These links open the original platform embeds in our gallery. They include creator-made code workflows and tutorials; they are not all demonstrations of the built-in Motion feature.

Can I use the same prompt for any video?

Use it as a starting point. A logo reveal needs a usable logo; a launch film needs real product material; a reference-based typography loop may need the original audio and timing. A creator's result can also depend on model settings and follow-up edits that were not shared.

Our Claude motion graphics prompt collection pairs original prompts with those practical requirements. For a longer walkthrough, see the ClaudeMotion.net guide, a companion site from the same publisher.
